Sunken House
This ground-up residence fills an unusual flag lot on a flat site surrounded by existing fences. With neither view nor orientation the fence line serves as a datum upon which an oversize roof sits. A singular form both too low and too large, it stretches across the site variously as shade, enclosure, and courtyard. Rooms are organized on a central court that lets out onto two distinct yards - a leisure garden and a cellar for wine production.
